BASIC SERVICE QUESTIONS
Q: WHAT DO YOU COUNT AS 1 SERVING?
A: We count a serving as any single item ordered from the truck. So whether it’s a single scoop or a double scoop sundae we count it as 1 serving. It helps make our catering process smoother and provides a better customer experience!
Q: WHAT IF I NEED TO GO OVER MY NUMBER OF SERVINGS?
A: If you are about to go OVER, our driver will call you and ask for approval if you would like to serve more at a your regular package pricing. We encourage you to choose the package that you think will be closest to the expected number of guests as we staff the event based on the package. For example you end up going 10+ servings over, we are happy to serve you but there might be a longer than desired wait time because we are understaffed.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T USE ALL MY SERVINGS?
We can pack your extra servings to put in your freezer or we donate all the extra scoops to children’s charities we scoop for multiple time a year. So nothing gets wasted! :-)
Q: CAN I ORDER DELUXE OR SPECIAL ITEMS LIKE CHURROS A LA CARTE? OR DECIDE ON DAY OF THE EVENT?
A: Our deluxe/special items like churros or s'mores are calculated at $__ x the entire number of servings. Most of the work is in our time for station setup, not just the product cost. :-) All of these items require extra staffing and/or prepping the truck with special ingredients in advance so we appreciate you letting us know at least 48 hours in advance if you would like to offer them to your guests!
Q: HOW LONG BEFORE THE EVENT DO YOU ARRIVE TO SET UP?
A: We typically arrive 5-15mins before the event. Our driver will call when arriving, in case there is an event outside our control (unexpected traffic, accident, etc) we will call you immediately. Unless it’s a large event with a complex menu, we can set up in 5mins or less and begin serving!
Q: WILL IT BE ENOUGH TIME TO SERVE SAFELY? WHAT IF I WANT EXTRA TIME?
A: All our packages are designed to be a length of time that we are comfortable serving people in a socially distanced way in. If you prefer not to stress and like to add additional time, we can definitely do that and appreciate if we can arrange it in advance as we often do multiple caterings a day and might have a tight turnaround!
Q: WHY DO YOU HAVE AN EXTRA "WEDDING FEE"
A: Our packages are priced for "regular" catering where we arrive 5-15mins before the start of service, have direct contact with the client on day of the event, and the team is allowed to wear their typical informal t-shirt and shorts uniform. For a wedding, there is usually a lot of extra organization for our sales coordinator including communication with your wedding coordinator, venue rules, COI processing, arrival 30+ minutes before service time and staff wearing more formal service attire (for table tops). If these extra steps are not important to you and want you want us to treat your wedding like a regular informal catering, just let us know and we'd be happy to do so!
ALLERGY AND PRODUCT QUESTIONS
Q: CAN I CHOOSE MY FLAVORS?
A: Yes, this is available for events of 200+ servings. Otherwise our trucks carry a “catering-friendly mix” of 5-6 flavors which ensures that everyone has a flavor they love! This includes vanilla, vegan vanilla, a chocolate base (chocolate or Rocky Road), a fruit base (usually strawberry or mango sorbet) plus a seasonal rotation of flavors which might include Blue Cookie Monster, Mocha Almond Fudge, Banana Caramel Crunch, Birthday Cake, PSL, Pink Peppermint Fudge… the list goes on…!
Q: DO YOU HAVE GLUTEN-FREE, NON-DAIRY AND VEGAN OPTIONS?
A: Yes, please check out our menus, “gf”, “non-dairy” or “vegan” will be specifically notated next to that menu item. :-) All of our ice creams are gluten-free unless they have cookies/bread as a mix-in. We typically have a rotating non-dairy or vegan ice cream flavor on the truck too. Most of our ice cream flavor labels shown on the menu board will list all major allergens and if you have any questions, please ask your uscoope. :-)
Q: MY CHILD HAS A PEANUT/TREE NUT ALLERGY…
A: We do not serve peanut or peanut butter flavors so our freezer is peanut-free at all times! We have one shaker of nut topping on the truck and our cookie crumble topping also contains nuts. These items can be easily removed from the menu if you let us know there is an allergy in advance. :-) Our vegan ice cream is does not have peanuts or treenuts and is a great choice. We encourage any guests with allergies to ask any of our scoopers on-site as they are all very knowledgable about ingredients.
Q: CAN YOU SEND ME A PHOTO OF THE MENUBOARD IN ADVANCE?
A: We typically recommend clients to take a photo of the menuboard when we arrive and text it to their guests- this has worked great! As we often do multiple events in one day, we cannot predict exactly what flavors will be on the truck when it arrives.
Q: WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR COVID?
A: Wearing masks, gloves, sanitizing everything frequently! Please note that our team DOES NOT get off the truck except for troubleshooting or to hook up power. No vendors, clients or anyone else are allowed to come on board. Our team is tested frequently as once a week as a lot of the film/tv production sets we serve require us to have negative tests before we can serve and if any team member exhibits symptoms of illness we ask they do not work. If you have COVID-specific protocol for your workplace/production shoot please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate. We take our responsibility seriously as food service professionals to keep everyone healthy and safe!
